You don’t need to be a graphic artist or hire an expensive designer in order to get cool looking banners, logos, buttons, and fonts for your web site, business cards, brochures, or other promotional material. There’s a ton of free stuff on the Internet that you can use when you’re just getting started or your budget is tight.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t ever use a professional. In many cases that’s exactly what you need. And I’m not saying that everything you find on-line is high quality. What I am saying is that I’ve found a couple of free services that produce what I think are respectable results and I’d like to share them with you.
For banner creation, check out Cool Text. Here you’ll find over 30 styles of banners/logos. You can customize the font, text size and color, background color, and special effects. There’s also a dozen customizable button designs and over 1200 fonts.
Another place to get tons of free buttons is from Graphic Mavericks. This isn’t an affiliate link; I just like their work. You have to opt-in to their list to get the freebies. That’s what I did, and so far, I’m happy to report, I haven’t received a lot of promotional email from them. If that changes, I (and you) can always unsubscribe.
