How to Start a Business That’s Perfect For You

Career Renegade

Thinking about starting your own business? Want to follow your passion, but you’re not sure how (or if) it could ever bring in enough money to support you?

I recommend you read Jonathan Fields’ new book (it was just released last week and is already ranked #1 in the category of job hunting reference books sold at Amazon). This book is not filled with fluff and the usual “do what you love and don’t worry, the money will follow” advice. It’s full of practical tips to help you on your journey.

Jonathan recognizes that you still have bills to pay and probably a family to support and suggests several strategies for dealing with your financial concerns. He also talks about how to maintain the important relationships in your life as you start down the path to taking control of your career. He disagrees with the conventional “wisdom” that says to disassociate yourself from all “negativity” (which frequently includes friends, family, and folks in your inner circle who just don’t get what you’re trying to do). He explains how to get the key people in your life to understand the transition that you’re working on.

In addition to telling about his own experience, Jonathan shares the stories of more than a dozen others who have turned their passions into full-time incomes.

There’s also a version available for the Kindle reader.
