There are a couple of great options to get free help with your tax return preparation this year. This is especially important if
- You’re not sure what to do with the new Forms 1095
- You don’t know if you qualify for the Premium Tax Credit (PTC)
- You don’t know how to calculate the PTC
- You might be exempt from the coverage requirements of the Affordable Care Act

Another way is to use brand-name commercial tax preparation software from one of thirteen companies who are participating in this year’s IRS Free File program. Each vendor sets their own restrictions on which taxpayers can use their free service, based on

- Age
- State of residence
