Nerdiness Not Required

You absolutely do NOT have to be a computer jock to start an on-line business. It’s actually pretty easy to create your own web site and there are lots of free tools and services to help you get started.

Over at the Business Startup Success Club, I’ve got a couple of free Jump Start Guides to Success Online that are yours for the taking, no strings attached. You don’t even have to give your email address if you don’t want to. Part 1 explains how to register your web site name and Part 2 tells you how to choose a web host and sign up for service.

You can get free software from WordPress that lets you design a web site and/or a blog. If you choose the web hosting service that I recommend (and use myself), you’ll be able to install WordPress in just a few mouse clicks.

What could be easier than that?

You don’t need to know anything about HTML, CSS, or php (not even what those letters stand for) to get started, though if you decide to learn a tiny bit about them it will make it a whole lot easier for you to keep your web site up to date without spending a ton on outside consulting.

There’s even free video instruction available from WordPress that will teach you how to do a lot of the basic work to get your site up and running.

There goes your “but I’m not a computer or Internet whiz kid” excuse for not starting an online business.

What’s keeping you from starting an on-line business today?

Seriously, I’d like to know your reason. Leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to help you overcome any difficulty you’re having.
