A Little Bit About Me
Education:
I have a BS in math with specialization in computer science from Purdue University (Go Boilers!) and an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from The University of Chicago.
Experience:
I’ve been involved in the financial world ever since I took a short break from working on my Masters degree to do an internship at a very large public accounting firm so I could see what accounting would be like in the “Real World.” After graduation, I worked several years on the audit staff of the same company and was originally licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois in 1975.
I started my own private practice after I moved to Indianapolis in 1976 and I’m still registered to practice in Indiana. While living there, I helped develop the tax curriculum for the Business Ownership Initiative of Indiana and the Central Indiana Women’s Business Center, where I taught workshops about taxes, recordkeeping, and business startup.
In 2012, I sold my home of 33 years and moved to Raleigh, NC where I am currently licensed to practice.
My clients have included small business owners and solo entrepreneurs working in such fields as dentistry, physical therapy, landscape architecture, commercial real estate brokerage, property and casualty insurance, dog grooming, education, alternative medicine, and on-line music sales.
